Pastor Don Woody grew up in the middle of the Rocky Mountains in Northwest Montana where he came to know the Lord at the age of 18. He married his high school sweetheart, Rachel, who was very instrumental in leading him to the Lord. Rachel's father was the pastor of the Baptist Church in the small town of Heron, Montana.
After their high school graduation and marriage, both Don & Rachel left for basic training in the army. During his service to his country in the United States Army, Don surrendered into the Gospel ministry in May of 1993. In 1998 pastor Don left the army as a sergeant after feeling a call to help serve as a youth pastor at Sunrise Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas. He soon was called to pastor the First Baptist Church in Glenns Ferry, Idaho where he served faithfully for 13 years. He has three wonderful children, Rebecca, Chelsea & David. He loves people and finds nothing more enjoyable than making friends and sharing the Love of Christ with them. He enjoys studying civil war history and is an avid sports fan. He has coached at both the middle school and high school level in Track & Field and Basketball. His favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
